Charge for yearly service

Post by marc_fc2003 »

Hey folks.....

What is the generally accepted amount to expect to pay for a standard service? I have a 4 year old polo in decent condition, 31k that is now up for its yearly service. Last year I went to a private garage who quoted around 75 quid over the phone but I ended up paying 212 quid when they brought it back yet there was nothing wrong with it. I only went private cos VW Collindale quoted me 243 quid!

So what's a probable amount?

Cheers  ,

I know VW charge more, but it looks better on the service history, and if anything I feel safer knowing they know VW's like the back of their hand (well 'hope')

I'm guessing one of the mods will move this to power train, but I've just had the idea to steam my engine hmm.. Good idea that actually! lol

And to think I was mad about paying R$295 (£55.42) for my yearly service...
