Problem...help please

Post by adam_0612 »

Problem is basically a noise from the rear passenger wheel

Only happened when i took my RXII off and put theses other alloys on

The noise is basically lyk a clicking (sounds like something is catching) around the drum brake area. It SEEMS to do this everytime the wheel seems to have made one full spin.

I have taken the drum apart with my dad and everything is fine in there.

He says it might be the wheel bearing, but he had to go to work so couldnt look in any more detail.

Any other ideas from you lot, what you think it could be?

thanks

Bolts are too long - probably touching the handbrake cable in the drum

dam u know i would never have thought of that but now u mention it alex ive worked on a golf that had that problem!
guy bought the car of a bloke who took his alloys and spacers off and put some standard steels back on the car as part of the deal but used the longer wheel bolts on the standard rims!
Took me AGES 2 find out it was that!

If it is the wheel bearing, (Which I don't think it is), it is ok to still drive it round for now, as long as it isn't at stupid speeds

i put my RXII back on that drum, and it still made the noise.

so does that mean it isnt the botls touching the cable then?

I really don't know,

i bought them because they were a decent price and appeared to be free delivery. Turns out it was a misstype, but as a will I paid the amount they were asking for, afterall they were a decent price to start with.

it now been a month and they still haven't arrived, I get the odd email every week or so with a pathetic worthless update.

I'm about to send them another email now.....
