I do about 350-400 miles a week, so I clean it one day and it's a mess in 2 days! I hate the fact that the silver car can look OK on the outside but there's so much muck on the windows in about 1 hour of driving.
I'm careful with washing - I use a woolen mitt and make sure I wash it out after each panel or two of cleaning. I'm sure there are still swirl marks though - with washing the car often it's going to be hard to avoid.

if you really want to cut down on swirls you need a wool wash mitt, which you have and use the two bucket method with grit guards
also jet wash off all s**t first and if possible use either a foam gun or lance to break down most of the dirt before washing with the mitt
I also have a couple of microfibre mitts for doing the likes of the wheels/arches/exhaust and generally any dirty unpainted bits
I also have a sonus microfibre drying towel in place of the traditional scratchy chamois
