Never trust car washers, whether it be machine or hand based. As I been both and I noticed they leave minor scratch marks on the body. Where the standard paintwork was and where body repair was done and this is much later after the paint had tried and settled, about two months later. Would it be worth complaining to them about it for compensation? By the sounds of it your rims will need a respray either a DIY way by yourself or a refurb specialist.
Gotta love bastards, like I left my car for just over an hour next to a brand new Astra in Bluewater come back to find a door dent, I'm 100% sure it was that Astra from where it was parked and I was parked looked like a perfect match, now more repairs to the list which I don't have money for
