Late style mk4 dials on early mk4

Post by Dub1 »

I want to change my dials to the later style mk4 one's (shown in pic) is it a case of just plugging them straight in & away you go?

I want to do this because i want to change to the blue/red theme that i have seen people do on the later style dials

Also as it happens i've found a set with pretty much the same mileage (give or take a few hundred) RESULT!! :-D

changing the lighting is a lot easier on the earlier dials, much less soldering i believe.... unless im wrong....its on my list of to do stuff and ive got later dials.

definatly not a straight swap!

the plug on the early MK4 polo is completely different.

the late MK4 (R reg onwards), have the same plug as the MK5 polo.

to change the clocks, you'll need to chop the plug off, and wire a later spec plug on.

be warned.....there is approx 31 wires to chop and change, and its quite a tight space to work in.
