yeah i know. although i did chekc out insurance before i bought it. as i said before my previous insurance company told me i was buiding up no claims on my dads insurance wel i took the insurance out. now there tellin me i didnt. they have really done me over on this one.

im with tesco and im 21 with 4 yrs no cliams fully comp protected no cliams and i only pay 450

Anyone know if DirectLine's named driver NCBs are accepted by many other insurance companies?

I'd guess Direct Line might also be accepted by Privilege, as they're underwritten by the same company.

Best way to do it is just ring and ask though, as I've learnt not to make assumptions with the car insurance industry!

i'm surprised you're getting such crap quotes from elephant, myself and my friends all live in london (which i think has the highest rate for insurance) and elephant has always been the cheapest they beat the best quote i got by Â£2000... for the record i was 20, 0ncb, 0days of having a license etc.
I honestly think they're your best betyou just need to work things a bit, try different postcodes on the online quote thingy... for where you leave your car overnight, say your occupation is accountant etc. oh and stick with 3rd party F/T otherwise you really won't get a logical quote

1 last v important thing and this will probs drop your quote by a grand at least, stick your parents on the cover as 2nd drivers if you wanna build your own no claims that is...

Which is great apart from if you actually go ahead and purchase the policy, it's then invalid because you've given false information.
