dead battery, shagged alernator or short?

Post by smiffyraf1 »

hi guys another problem to get ur opinion on. u should charge by the hour! finished work today and car wouldnt start jumped it and was fine apart from made a funnny clicking sound from just under the battery when revved. half the 14 mile journey back the attention getter went and abs warning light came on, tested brakes and as it said no abs, so continued to home and stopped only to find wouldnt start again and seemed battery was completely dead at first i thought must be alternator or belt but the belt was fine and surely if it was an alterantor problem id be getting a battery warning light? so have deduced it must be the battery and as the abs is powered from this thats why it died just wondering if u guys concured before i went out and spent some cash on a batt.
cheers fellas
