man that sucks m8 :(
I got an idea. In my polo under the Passenger side Glove box, Check the roof of the footwell should be like a foam roof. Pull that down and ur alarm system might be there. I have a load of wiring there and there is a circuit board with a button on. If yours is the same try pressing that button and ur remote button might reset it all for u.

If not try VW?

Sounds like you left the batteries out of the remote for too long, resulting in the memory being wiped.
You will need to have it reprogrammed, costs a s**t load from VW as well :?

Not sure to be honest, I heard it was a lot though.

Curries shouldnt have taken it out, I used to work at halfords and was told we could be liable if such a thing happened. Try and get them to pay

Not sure but some car shops might be able to do it for you, worth a try

VW quoted me £80 to program the transponder, hope that helps. You will need to take the car with you, identity and vehicle registration documents if VW are doing it.

Maybe try another battery as batteries fade away slowly after time, might be a crappy battery replacement?

yeh but he just replaced the batteries so the transponder should still be on the same frequency ...im still new to polos but not new to to the 6n base ...ive had a 1.4 ibiza and 2.016v gti ibiza and they both required you to reprogram via this procedure:

~~sit in the car with the doors closed and the car unlocked
1. Insert key into ignition & turn once. (so the car doesnt start but power is on)
2. Turn ignition off take the key out...
3. Hold the lock button pressed while pressing unlock button three times.
~~you should now hear your central locking locking itself meaning its worked!! ....however if it dosnt work then try try again, either your pressing the buttons too fast or too slow or not following the procedure.

hope this helps mate.
