k&N 57i induction kit
k&N 57i induction kit
about to stick a k&n into my 6n. in the manual it says to cut a 70mm hole into the front panel trim so that you can stick the hose through it to the front grill..but i cba to do that so is there any other way ?
Not bad idea, but if it was facing forward air would kind of force air into itself as your moving causing a more breathy engine. Best place where it would stretch it to, is the corner of the lower grill passenger side (as that side has slits while drivers side doesn't). Putting it there would give you a ram-air effect where the pressure of the wind while moving causes a slight pressure, which in turn allows more cold air. Another suggestion is the bigger the pipe the better. But the K&N ones not to bad its 60mm, I upgraded my feed to 70mm.
If your looking to further mod then get a new exhaust as all airy mods always get bottlenecked with the stock exhaust. As when forcing air into the engine it won't be effective as the air won't be able to leave as fast as possible, so your next uprate should be that if you plan on going further, then manifolds and cams.

lol hell yes man. I remember seeing the movie when i was 8 and ive got the second movie on my mac....
what a pile of tosh but great in its cheesyness.
Interestingly though ive never seen the original series in full. Only a few episodes at best, which is pissed cos i love it lol. The new series wasnt to bad though. I streamed that online.
God now im in an anime mooooood!! lol.

and sib nice banner. When i get on photoshop i shall attempt to outdo you sir with a banner ive been meaning to do for a long long time...
Now we got an anime conversation going, full metals amassing, never got into nurato but apparently later in the anime it switched to 10 years later and its meant to get really good. Evangelion f**ked with your head in a good way and the movie, wow what a bloody anime. Bleach is pretty good, but I read the manga which blows your mind, especially the last twist with aizen and the vaizards.
Standard K&N feed is 100cm's long if i remember rightly it stretched to 150-170cm's. Think my 70mm cold pipe is 150cm's long and I had to squash it up as it was to long, so it should easily fit as i stretched mine down there if I member rightly. Just make sure to use jubilees or cable ties to fix it in, their is a handy spot to tie it to as well under the bottom grill, you will see when you take it off.yosin wrote:would the standard feed be able to stretch down that far?
lol this is going to turn into one of those big anime forums lol..
i have to take off the lower grill? or can i just go under it and just look for the bit to tie it...or do i just tie it through the rails if u know what i mean...
ps. i kinda stopd watchin naruto after it was the same ol cliches and same ol moves happening just kinda got dead -.-

Not many anime fans on here... You can look under and you can feel the bar I'm on about, basically at the edge of the grill about 8cm's to the drivers side you will feel a vertical bar, tie it on there. Taking the grills easier as it will allow you to cable tie it down a hell lot easier (and it can be a right f**king pain to cable tie sometimes), the lower grill just unclips at a close inspection with the aid of a flat screwdriver.yosin wrote:lol this is going to turn into one of those big anime forums lol..

Tomorrow I'll get a pic of my cold feed as someone else requested it in the engine section but I haven't had much time, work weekends and mums been rushed into hospital, but I'll try my best
This ones for you yosin, theres minor difference in the way our feeds are set up, but they both work the same way. I just have the stock filter box while you have the cone.
What I did is I assembled the following which consists of 70mm duct, 70mm trumpet and 70mm to 60mm reducer:

You don't need the reducer in you situation, neither is the trumpet but they do look good and give the duct a bit more distance and support against the bumper. They can be picked up with a duct for £20 on ebay in 70mm, 80mm, 90 and 110mm for that fixed price with the right sized trumpet. The bigger the duct is the better, but the only restriction with bigger ducts is fitting them in good places, like the highest pressure is on the side of the bumpers, but big ducts like 110mm wouldn't fit down there, but for bigger ducts you can fit them in other places, heres a diagram or air pressure/friction of cars in momentum:

You got a choice where you fit the ducting if you go for the best locations here they are:

Red ones where I fitted mine, green ones where I am advising you as the passengers side has slits cut, whilst the red drivers side doesn't but I messed around, drilled and filed the holes:

If you go through the drivers side, you will have to squeeze the duct through between charcoal filter and the indicator (biggest duct that can fit is 70mm down there), like I did:

Then you can fix the ducts to the supports behind the grill that I was on about here they are on the passenger side:

Heres what I did on the drives side using the support:

And finally heres the final result:

Hope this helps
