Yaris T-Sport vs Polo GTI

Post by Mouse_GTI »

I was bored and came across this. Apparently a Yaris T-Sport is quicker and much better handling than a Polo GTI. Discuss

Just makes me laugh that they all think a car with 130 - 150bhp is like a supercar!

I'm pretty sure dantheman told me he had a race with a mate of his in a YTS and it was pretty close.

Neither are a rapid car, but I wouldn't be seen dead in a yaris.

Polo GTI will shat on a yaris t-sport. Mate of mine has a GTI, and his bird has a T-Sport. I was in the t-sport, and the GTI just had it

Although...it was rather close

As chris said, I also wouldnt be seen dead in a yaris - plasticy yucky interior, digital speedo...what next :P

"It's a heap of sh*te and once again is driven by daughters of people with too much money."

Fair do's, japanese cars last a long time, but I wouldn't be caught dead driving a yaris. It's more of a girls car than a polo bought by rich parents :)

"they look hotter than most others too."

It's a yaris, they don't get less crapper looking

come on now lads theres no need to b***h about cars! for a start that thread is from over 3 years ago and secoundly the yaris section on the toyota owners club is terrible! haha

i myself was looking into getting a polo gti (a big fan of them) for some time about a year ago but instead i went for a yaris t sport (personally i prefered the way it drove but thats just me!) and im a big fan of japanese cars.

yep yaris's are granny mobiles butt the tsport has a hell of alot better looks than your average yaris, different bumpers, interior and that. neither model of the tsport have those (AWFUL) digital dials, they have a proper speedo. its a well built car (ok so its not got the quality of the polo dash ill admit! i previously owned a mk4 golf also and the finish to things is well done!)

currently have my friends polo gti here at mine because im cleaning it out for him as he is selling up .. now as for the difference in speed, there really is nothing in it  frankly we were both shocked, sometimes i get ahead, other times he might of. theyre very even performance wise, the bhp isnt everything as its obviously down to weight also.. and the yaris has shorter gear ratios

theyre both good cars at the end of the day, i could go into the fact that i know someone who bought one and had the gearbox and clutch go in the first week, or that one i test drove had a clutch like pushing a house brick but theres no need as i know its still a good car...

that seems like a rant now but i felt i had to protect my car :P

no need for hating guys :P

Edit* i think these are both pretty good looking cars myself :p

Just out of interest Mouse, how bored do you really have to be, to be trawling 3 year old Toyota owners forums?!

I did at one point contemplate a T-Sport, but i just couldnt deal with the interior. They are nippy, especially with a BMC bolted on, but just dont touch the GTI for quality imo.

Well, seeing the T-Sport and GTi next to each other in those pics I have to say the GTi looks a million miles better. I just hate bubbly curvy looking cars. The straight lines of the GTi are MUCH better. IMHO.

I think the 6N2 has aged really well. No silly headlamps or anything

Agree there mouse. It still looks as modern as the cars from today - especially the interior.

The dials were way ahead of the time back then. Compare it to something like a clio or a corsa from the same years inside, and its lightyears ahead

I think the 6N2 GTi is a classic design that people will admire for years. Just like the MK1 Golf.
