6n2 GTI flip key

Post by Tom W »

Hi,

i got bought a flip key for christmas and decided it was time to sort it out. So anyway i went to the local locksmiths who cut the blade no problem. It fits the lock barell and i have coded the part that starts the car so i can do this fine, however the buttons will not work to operate the central locking. I took the lot down to VW and they said that it was not possible to code the key to the car bu somehow i am just not happy with that and i am sure it can be done. i have looked at all of the previous posts and taken it all on board.
Any advice?
Cheer Tom :)

the buttons need to somehow be linked with the ceontrol unit of the cental locking. i'm not clued up to this kinda stuff but if it's an aftermarket key i owuldn't've though it could be done.

although the key is a replica of the flip keys. All the buttons on my flip key work including for the boot to pop

mk4 golf and the polo have different convenience units, therefore the keys cannot be used with the opposite model - just a pain unfortunately.
