Where to buy a brake switch for a 9N?

Post by IansMusical »

Hi Guys,

My glowplug light has started flashing and from reading other posts on here it's apparently due to the brake light switch failing!

Question is, is a brake light switch a dealer item or can they be got from GSF, Eurocarparts!?!?

Thanks,

Ian

As per my PM - have you tested the brake lights?

I'd always go to a VAG dealer for this sort of troublesome part as VAG are still evolving it - any aftermarket place will/might just be flushing out their old stock.

Hi Guys,

Dino - Panda - yeah I tested the brake lights when I got home from work yesterday and all three aren't on.

I'll try the dealer first and hope the cost isn't silly! ;-)

Thanks,

Ian

Hi Guys,

A new brake light switch for a 2002 9N is £8.14 from the dealer :-)

Thanks,

Ian

Good, that's the way to do it - having no rear indication of the fact that you are braking is not good - when mine went I sorted it out right away no messing with "I think it might last a few more days as I've cleaned it up" - that's for mugs!
