Hey there peoples =]

Heres the story...
Basically, I've had my polo for about a month now, and the more I wash it the more i notice patches where it has been touched up. HOWEVER, there are a lot of patches, and i mean quite big patches, where it isnt the same colour... and it really annoys me lol. For instance, the wings are a different colour, theres a patch on the bonnet and a huge bit on the side.

I really cant afford a new paint job, but I could do with something to make it look more even... has anyone got any ideas? Someone suggested T-cut, but as i dont know how well these patches have been sprayed, I'm not sure if it is wise or not... so little help please

go to a bodyshop, provided the metal is sound they can always do a flash top coat for you for a small cost, failing that youre stuffed

I'm sorry to laugh but haha

Sounds like they used halford paint that apparently matches the dealers paint, when really it's not, it all looks well and good for a few days till it settles down and then you go "AHHHHHHH what have I done!". Could get paint from dealers and patch up the patches yourself.

If its whole body parts then it could be the car was involved in a crash and the paint wasn't mixed correctly, which could mean a complete respray of the entire part.

Or get a dealers to patch up the areas which shouldn't cost to much as suggested.

i dont really want to spray it myself cause i think ill just bodge it up =/

flash top coat?? how much are they roughly?

Sounds like bad blow ins as im in the paint trade i think thats it, different colour panels will be because they have sprayed them individually and havent blended them into edge to edges! silver is one of the problem colours in paint term, sounds like ur gona have to live with it until u can afford a decent spray job!!

Quick question if you don't mind, I've purchased a compressor and the spray and nozzle tools as I got a new bumper and wing on the way. The paint is going to be matched at a centre but I will be doing the priming, smoothing and painting.

Was wondering if you can give me any advice after the paint work has been in regards to blending it as well as any tips will painting and doing so.

Yeah no worries mate il guide you if ya like but 1st of all if ur doing the painting urself just paint ur wing and bumper if the colour comes out ok as in a match and ur happy with it then all is good, but if it looks a bit off then u should blow it in using the same paint as in ur panels!!

Its very hard tho!

Many thanks for before but I got more questions?

1) Firstly is what should I apply in what order and how many coats, such as well as drying times, like two layers of prime at hourly intervals, then five layers of paint etc...?

2) Secondly, where would I obtain prime, laq and paint that would be sprayable to good quality?

3) Thirdly, is there anything I need to add that makes the paint sparkly as the paint up closer on my car looks glittery with a sparkle?

4) Last question is, once obviously painted would I apply laq before putting the part on if I'm happy with the colour or would I put the body part onto the car and just laq it when its on the car?

What are u spraying 1st of all like what part of car isit and are they new panels or old, plastic, damaged or painted already???? Cheers dude
