BMC INDUCTION KIT!!! NEED ADVICE!!

Post by NFS »

Ok, ive been looking around for a while and fount a BMC CDA Induction kit. But i was wondering if there is any point as some people say there is no difference to performance and some say they are GREAT! I have a 2001 1.4SE 16v 75bhp Polo and want it to go abit faster so i can beat my mates! Im not bothered about top speed i want the acceleration to be quicker than 12 seconds! Please if you got any advice on what i can do or if i am making the right move the let me know!! THANX

Moved to mk5 / 6n2 section!

an induction kit isn't going to increase power by a huge amount on its own! therefore, fitting an induction kit will not make you beat your mates! it will make quite a bit more noise when you put your toe down though!

its true the bmc is a great kit and makes an awesome noise.

it makes the car feel a little sharper and more responisve but as for power gains im afraid induction kits on small engine cars dont make huge differences.

bmc still puts a smile on my face though love the noise! mine may be for sale if your interested?

Hmmm...i'm thinking ill buy a bmc cda induction kit and also fit a sports exhaust. How much bhp do you think that would give me.

Also some fool just went and keyed my car so i got sum touch up pens from halfords and put it on. I then sanded it down to get rid of the bumps but now theres like a dull area around the scratch where i sanded it. I think the clear coats gone, if i just spray some on over the scratch will it do the trick?

stani540 if your selling some gti xenon headlights ill buy them off ya or if any1 else has got 1 that they dont want :)

as for power gains with an exhaust may be more but we are talking minimal unless you get a full system but its still not gunna be massive power increase.

A full exhaust system including the manifold, a BMC with a decent cold air feed and a remap would give you a little bit extra.

But that's quite lot of money, your looking at someting in the region of 700 quid. just depends whether you think it's worth it or not.
