Gave the Polo a real thorough clean
last week including under the hood.

Tried to start it 1hr after washing it and it wouldn't start!
Gave it some gas while turning the key and it struggled
to start and then ticked over normally.

Drove down to our parents house about 5 miles away
and less than 1 mile from there it starts missing.
Pulled up at the traffic lights and it cut out

Tried about 10 times to start it and checked all the
plugs and connections, nothing!

Had to get it TOWED away to the local VW specialists :(

The guy from the garage called and said it started first time
but after a test run it failed to start.
He had to fit a new coil (£90) now all is well and it runs fine.

Dude, you've got to be careful when washing the engine bay.

Guess that doesn't help, but oh well. Good to see it's working again now.
