Post by Dub1 »

Basically I'm looking into making my 16v quicker...

I'm just gathering some information on what work would need to be carried out. Cams? Pulleys? I'm not sure so if anyone can help please

Well depends on how much you want to spend, but a fast road cam would add about 20bhp getting the car chipped would add some more too also ported and fitting a better filter and exhaust, remember that any performance and power gains made to the engine have to be reported to the insurance company.
i've just fitted a K&N panel filter just to add to the fuel Economy, a friend of mine has just spend over 5k on his Skyline which produces about 550 BHP so it's all relative, also Polo's look good at any speed :)

How much do you want to spend, also if you make it quicker you MUST upgrade your brakes too. Not worth getting that bit more power without having the means to pull it up!
Also as Mike already mentioned, make sure all mods are declared to your insurance company. Don't want them bailing out on you when you make a claim.
Failing that, just get a GTI!!!

My knowledge isn't that great with engines so apologies if i come across a bit :?

I have just bought a brand new AFH cylinder head, what work could be done to this. Figured it could be easier this way rather than having my car off the road
