Got quoted £1200 on elephant.co.uk for me as main driver fully comp. Rang them after internet quote, and they said if my mum was the main driver, it would be at least £200 cheaper.

Still doesn't beat current insurance, £370 w/ direct line on a 1.4.

So you're saying they actually told you put your mom down as the main driver, and you as a named - I'm very surprised if they did as it is Insurance Fraud and totally illegal.

Not that I'm saying you shouldn't do it. I did that with my insurance till I was 21 and then only changed as I needed to be the main driver to put business use on to be able to use it at work.

I told them from the beginning that I was doing the quote on my mum's behalf and that the car is in her name.

It was them that then suggested to put the insurance in her name provided she is the main driver. Some crazy american guy on the phone.lol

I'm also 24 in a month and have 5 years no claims but 3 points and i pay about £450 with protected no claims!
