Squeaky front brakes, possibly after painting, HELP??????

Post by lolhoward »

I recently painted my front calipers (very carefully) with out taking them off, but now, about 3 weeks later im getting an awful sqeak when braking slowish (not heavy braking). I think its coincedence but just wondered if any of you experts think otherwise or if theres anything else you think it could be. The disc looks fine and not worn. Not too sure on pads. Is there any techniques (easy) of checking if there worn etc.

Thanks for help.

i know if u got alloys u can probably look through the gap at the calliper and u will see how much of the pad is left between the disc and the metal part of the pad....... i dont think its the paint, might just be something in the pad or something. i painted my calipers and so far had no trouble.

Yeah I thought that as I painted them on my Type R and no trouble. What about spraying brake cleaner on them then going for a quick HARSH spin!?
