Side Repeaters Indicators, How to change?

Post by lolhoward »

I'm wanting to change my indicator bulbs to silver ones to get rid of the fried egg look. I did this on my Mk4 and they just popped out. Just wondered if there the same on the Mk5. Also any tips or techniques on removing the indicators as I think I ended up breaking a clip last time!

Cheers

Side repeaters i dont know mate

Indicators tho:

Open your bonnet up. The "on top" of your indicators there will be a little black T shape thing. Pull that up and then you can slide the indicator out and twist off the bulb holder and swap over the bulbs

When you change them over, put your hazards on when you have fitted them both to check they are working correctly.

I put them all back and closed my bonnet and one of them was quite connected properly so i had to do the whole thing again lol

Side repeaters - slide them to one side and prise them out with your fingers. it's either left to right or right to left, not sure which way cos Alex did mine!

It's definitely one way or the other, you'll be able to feel a 'give' in the correct way

The way I do it is to slide the lens to the rear of the car and lever the front facing part up & out with your finger nail. Easy peasy!

But it can also be to the front of the car. As tim says, either way...youll just feel a bit of play in one way

Well I did it by putting a very small flat head screwdriver to the end towards the rear and popped it out that end first. The End towards the front has the clip the other is just a groove. Slightly different to my 6N as it had two clips and I broke one!!!

Thanks for help.
