Apple Ipod Install!!!!!

Post by noodlez_polo »

After just buying my car i started to worry about how i was going to deal with my cd collection. the main thing i was worried about was having them nicked from my car and where i was goin to store them!

My answer an ipod!, ive just bought an apple ipod and hardwired it into the back of my stereo using a component made by Denon called an icelink. the final result is sexy :D if anyone else like me does not want to fork out for a grand or so for the equivalent 40gig denon headset i would highly recomend the ipod as you can take it out the car and continue to listen to all your music.

the ipod can store up to 10000 songs and my full install only cost me £420. for me this was a bargain as i love the fact of having all my cd's with me in a device that weighs the same as two cd's in and out of the car.

if anyone wourld like to know more or see some pics just reply or pm me !

nice!

there's also an fm transmitter kit for the ipod - and you tune the radio into it. my mate's got one in his 200sx and says it works a treat.

information

i ordered my icelink from here!

http://www.densionusa.com/icelink/

it came with car mountings holder and all the stuff needed for install and dont pay for installation it is so easy.

basically the icelink tricks ur headset into thinking ur ipod is a cd changer allowing you to skip play and pause track froms your head unit.

the headunit automatically turns on the ipod when cd mode is selected and of when exited of cd.

the icelink also comes with a neat little port for charging the ipod meaning there is no need for plugging into the cigarrete holder!

the only disadvantage of this is that you cannot have a cd changer and the ipod, but then again you can put 250 cd's on ur ipod at cd quality and i havent seen anyone with a 250 disk cd changer, although it would be impressive! :)

if you use the fm transmitter, it'll work in any head unit with a radio!

fm transmitter

Post by noodlez_polo »

the fm transmitters are a kind of pain in the ass as there frequencies change all the time, i had an i trip and my bro tried it out in my polo for a couple of days and it was pretty poo! get the ice link not only does it look sweet but it allows you to control it through your headset charge it through your headset and the ice link comes with pro clip and brodit mount, ill put some pics on v soon. to find out if your headunit is compatible with icelink go to the densionusa site i put a link to in a previous post it tells you there!
