Standard Alloys ! (corrosion problem)

Post by Cadey »

I have just been to my local VW garage and I DO seem to have the corrosion problem on my car!!!

How many other people have had this problem?

Did any one get them all replaced due to it being a BBS fault.

Ill let you no how I get on with listers VW!

Have a look through the GTi forum, there is a topic about this alloy problem. Some have managed to have it replaced by their warrenty but the corrosion on my wheels happened after my warrenty ran out.

:D

Oops, seems i was a little to annoyed about the state of the wheels to look first, sorry.

Just been on the phone to listers, my car has one month left on the warranty but they have told me to book it in on Monday and it should just be a simple change over !

Hope it is :) 4 brand spankers would be sweet

I had all 4 of my wheels replaced 2 weeks ago because of corrosion, I only have 3 weeks left on my warranty. Don't let them fob you off with excuses like " They have been kerbed" and " They must have been damaged due to poor tyre fitting" Bullsh** If one dealer says he won't replace them, try another!

That’s exactly what I did!!!

I went to a VW garage in Tamworth and some horrible b***h who I’m going to make a formal complaint about told me that there was no such fault with the alloys and that she had only ever had 2 claims on alloys go though under warranty !.

So i went away with my tail between my legs and thought sod it, ill ask at my local listers, the people i got the car from, there parts manager came out, literally walked round my car counting... 1...2...3...4... Ok, that’s 4 alloys... It took about 20 seconds for him to see my car and make his decision!

So that’s it, 25th of this month I get my 4 new alloys and a 20,000 mile service for only £135 :) not bad even if I say so my self...

It’s a 2001 Y plate by the way
