84 bhp at the wheels = 121 at the fly?

so is it normal to assume a 30% loss from the fly to the wheels?

nice figures!

Most people reckon about a 15% loss of power through the transmission, so there is quite a big loss there. Not sure where it goes really :? .

Rob's car did sound pretty good on the rollers though ! :D

:D

can you actually measure power at the fly, or did they guess at that much loss?

they do the lose when they are slowing down on the rollers

the thing is that ppl with the same car and same engine but with the older style dash and gearbox which has a longer ratio put out the same bhp at the wheels but only got about 110 at the fly

Do you know why that is?

I didn't realise the older ones had the longer ratio 'boxes. I thought it was just the 8v 1.4's. I actually prefer the longer ratio (better for motorway cruising) but I guess I'd lose on acceleration somewhere! I'll just have the longer 5th gear ratio, please

Cheers for posting the graph - should be able to calculate where to change gear now :)

p.s. love the car. where can I get a set of those alloys

I was one of the ones with the same power at the wheels but not so much at the fly as the newer cars had.

The Ronal Turbo wheels can be had from styledynamix.
