is it possible 75bhp to 100bhp

is it possible to get a 1.4 16v 75bhp to 100+ bhp with swaping engine if so how can it be done.

If your talking about a mk5 then no as one is iron and one is an aluminum block - its totally different running gear.

Anything is possible, but it will cost a bomb to do!

so cams, exhaust, bmc, remap would not make a differance

The money it would cost would see little gain. If you want power out of it, switch the block. I did know someone with a 100bhp in their garage if your interested

ill ave about £1500 to £2000 to spend. is it possible to switch the engine at these prices tho.

Yes. Its almost the same loom on the 16V engines. If you can do it yourself, youll save even more.

Ud have to contact him directly to ask. I cant remember which code is which as I havent got my manual to hand

Is it a mk4 or mk5 you have?

2 grand could get you a decent 1.8t lump just gotta make the custom bits and drop it in yourself! :?

ill ring round and find out what some garages say about a conversion as theres one way i would be able to do this my self

GTI conversion is also very popular, and fairly easy in the car uve got bud
