Take the old one off starting at one end. Youll need to remove the screw each side at the bottom of the arch liner thats screwed into it.

Gentle pull it out, then itll pop out around the rest of the bumper.

Put the new one into place, starting at one end, and push it in.

If it doesnt fit, help it with a rubber mallet mate

personally i found it a piece of P1$$. i was expecting it to be a harder job then it was but no joke, i got my old splitter of and my gti one on with in prob about 3 mins.

altho when i put it on i started from the middle and worked out. looks so much better as well with a gti splitter. never used a mallet either.

lol. if its a matter of just screws then it should be easy, as i haven't lowered my car yet. so the screws must be easy to locate

theres only 2 screws. one each side that holds the wheel arch lining against the splitter which u can see at the bottom of the wheel arch. other then that its clips all the way.

Getting it sprayed

Post by vw55raz »

Got my splitter today from a breaker. just wanted to know how easy it is to spray it. Would i have to sand it down first to smooth it off? or is the best option to get it sprayed by a pro. I got quoted 180 quid and im not paying that much lol

thats expensive, u could get a whole bumper sprayed for that.

from wat i heard u have to sand it so its smooth but dunno exactly. i was thinking of doing this myself to mine and maybe even smoothing it into the bumper but not sure about the sanding it like u.
