Hi Mikegti,

Initially it was just the rear wiper. We got stuck at a service station with the wiper going full tilt and fortunately there was an AA man there. He had a look and took out the fuse. When we got home we put the fuse back and haven't had a problem for about 2 years. Now the front and back wiper randomly come on - playing with the switches doesn't appear to do anything. I wondered if the wiper swithc arm can be at fault? My girlfriend (I would say that but it is true) got the rear washer hose frozen which popped off soaking the rear motor. Since then I dried it all out cleaned everything and wd40 the appropriate, thing do seam worse since then. Do you think fuse replacements might help? or switch more likely - do not want VW to charge me a fortune trying to sort this one out!!

Thanks

thats really odd!

so do the wipers work as they should when you want them to?

these are just guesses, but can you disconnect the wiring from the rear wiper motor and see if the front wipers still play up?
or is there a relay for the wipers that might be faulty?

i'll have a look at mine monday when it gets serviced
