Well, the centres were sandblasted back to bare metal as shown in the picture below:

They were then sent off to get powder coated. While they were getting sprayed I cracked on with the outer lips. Nightmare of a job. Spent a whole week after work up to 12 at times trying to get these finished for castlewellen show. Below are some of the progress pics:

One lip finished

Testing the paint to see if she would bubble or not

Lip and centre masked up

Two wheels with the inner part sprayed black

Just need centres, bolts and bbs centre cap

The difference with one painted and not

On my travels I picked up a little helper who was easy paid and enjoys hearing me swear repeatedly at wheels which dont talk back. :yesmaster: Heres a picture of him at work:

(aka Wellsie off the site)

Without this mans help I prob wouldnt have got these done for the show but at 12/1 on a thursday night/friday morning we had completely assembled all the wheels. Heres a picture of the finished product off the car:

Tyres were then on the car by friday night.

As with everything things dont always go to plan. This project was no exception.

Painting the Centres

Got the wheels sandblasted the first time and they didnt complete the job correctly and it reacted with the paint. Hence this:

That put more pressure on me getting the job completed due to time it takes for the centres to get sprayed and me working this around my daytime work.

Bolts

Two bolts needed replaced due to them snapping on removing the outer lips. Cant buy these new anymore so had to source some with the help of a few guys on uk-polos (Cheers Alex P)

Threads stripped

This was the most damaging. On assembly when you hope everything would go smoothly it goes t**s up. 6 of the bolt holes threads stripped on the first wheel. Thankfully there were no more but there was still a problem at hand. Ended up getting 2 of them fixed but 4 still rung. Went to an engineer and he comfirmed it would be safe enough with these 4 still not tightening due to the position of them. Happy Days :D

Wheels were on in time for the Castlewellen show. Below are some of the pics I have of her with her new shoes on. Goin for a photoshoot when I get time and will update the thread then

Thanks for Looking! :thumb:

Looks absolutely gorgeous mate, can't wait to see more pics.

Do you have undercar lit LEDs?

Or is that just reflection from your white Festoon LED?
