Throttle Cable

Post by Ash21 »

Hi Ladies and Gents

I have a 2000 Model 1.4 Polo and just wondered if you guys know if it has an electronic throttle control, ie no cable, I've looked and pretty sure there's no cable.

The reason I ask is that I can put my foot underneath the throttle pedal and raise it a good 2 inches is this normal and how can I adjust this?

Many thanks

Ash

Hi Gents

Thank you for the replies, I've just stripped the throttle body out and cleaned it all as I had bit of strange behaviour on the throttle response etc.

And yep it's all complicated servo thingies!!

So I guess there's no way I can get rid of that "slack" then......???

I'm pretty sure this is normal. Every car I've had, the throttle pedal can be lifted up; I really think there's nothing to worry about.
