vinyl vw badge "it worked"

Post by whitegtipolo »

8) I finally got round to trying this on my front VW badge as every time i painted it it got stone chipped to high heaven plus it was matt black so didn't match the front bumper! So here we go

cut out your vinyl and carefully place on your cleaned badge

now this is the hard bit using a standley knife slit in between the letters and carfully pull round them tight, the worse bit is round the circle edge of the badge you really have to stretch it to make sure no creases etc!!

Then refit to the badge base and pop into the grill

Looks ace, nice and shiny and looks "oem" perfect match to the black in the bumper and hopefully wont chip!

Thats to get the whole badge off. Yeah its just stuck on quite well. :? IIRC the silver part is a bit of a nightmare to get off, Its doesnt just clip in and out like the front

the back comeoff in one peice and you need to seperate it by breaking the moulded clips on the back and to glue it back together after.

insted of painting or doing it this way why you not just buy a black badge? :?

looks cool anyway, the lad with a green lupo and 'wood' down the side has made his badges 'wood' in this way, clever idead though 8)

A havent seen them eithers. If u want i have a spare badge at home, i'll take a pic of the back of it and let ya see the clips, they do need to be broken off to get the silver part off, then its a glue job as said above.
