Odd central locking issue on 51 Polo SE 3dr

Post by zail »

Hello,

I've got an odd issue with the central locking on my 51 polo and am wondering if anyone has any ideas...

The drivers door won't unlock, and nor will it operate the central locking .. therefore I have to unlock from the passenger door .. However (and this is the odd bit..) I can lock the drivers door *and* it operates the central locking..

What I'm wondering is - do you think this is a physical problem with the locking mechanism on the drivers door or an actual central locking issue? When I attempt to unlock the drivers door the central locking system makes all the right noises but nothing happens..

I managed to strip down and fix the locks on my previous polo (late model R plate) so sorting out a physical lock problem is not beyond me.. I'm just not so sure about working on the CL system (I do have the Haynes manula but it is hazy in instruction as per usual..!!!)

Any help greatfully recieved! :D
