headlight washers

After seeing a photo of another gti, something occured to me - it doesn't have cut outs in the bumper for the headlight washers. I always presumed mine had just blanks where the cut outs have been since I've never seen the headlight washers work...but my car does have heated seats etc which would make me think it has the winter pack. How do you make the washers work to test if i have them?

headlights on all the way (2 clicks)

pull back on the stalk, but keep it down 3/5 secs

then marvel at it ahhhh
