Basically, I had to go up back to uni on Thursday and now again tomorrow. It's about 50% country lanes, 10% through the centre of Harrogate and then the rest is a trek up the A1(M) and A19 and a couple of miles in town. 100 miles give or take...
Filled my car up with diesel until the pump clicked...must have been a bit in the filler pipe as my fuel gauge didn't budge until around 90 miles...after 110ish, it had moved about mm off full....almost thought my fuel gauge had broken before it moved
Anyway, Averaged about 55/56 MPG going up driving normally, sticking to the speed limit mainly. Got stuck in Harrogate during rush hour for about 20 mins, and might have hit 85 MPH a couple of times on the A1.
Coming back, took a different route via Scotch Corner, slightly longer, but quicker. Wanted to ge home quickly and did about 90 MPH for quite a bit down the M6, and ended up doing 45 MPG over 120 miles.
Saturday, went cruising with my mate along some county roads, ended up doing about 65 miles or so that day....53 MPG...
I gotta go back up to uni tomorrow via Harrogate, and will be coming back on Wednesday. Since I filled up, I've done 305 miles and the fuel gauge is just below 1/2 a tank. I'd guess I have about 20 - 21 litres left and according to the trip computer, the car will do 175 miles...
Gotta do circa 230 miles. Reckon I should play fuel light bingo?
