I know a few people on here have a Diamond Cut finish on their wheels, and I just wanted to know a few things.
How durable is it? does it crack, split, scratch easily?
Is it high maintenence? Does it need cleaning twice a week or pit very easily?
Is it hard to bring it up to shine every time it's cleaned?
Does it corrode easily?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers in advance.
Diamond cut finish
Diamond-cut wheels are much more durable than polished wheels, and are much less susceptible to pitting. They're turned on a CNC lathe, then laquered which gives a tough finish on the wheel.
Regarding corrosion, I find on older wheels, like my RA's they corrode a lot easier due to the age of the wheel. As long as you keep them away from salt and other nasties, they should be fine. A regular wash with regular car shampoo and a mitt will keep them safe from corrosion/cracks/splitting.
It's pretty easy to keep the shine on diamond-cut wheels, just give them a polish with regular car polish like Klasse AIO, and top that off with some wheel wax, and they'll be grand
