ill have alook on my aa computer tomo for relay locations for ya , just use the diode mod as its simple, the diode is so that when you switch on your fogs normally your full beam doesnt come on LOL, a diode is a one way valve so to speak!

Bank Holiday = Extra Time 4 Car

Post by adamwallace1989 »

Well with it being a bank holiday weekend had a bit of extra time on my hands, so... i decided to do a boot build. cost me £55 up to now for materials, but still need to get carpet, glue and a speaker grill. here is my progress
Here is how it started:
Image

Then i created the box making sure it was well sealed, you dont want a leaky box

Image

Then i cut out the base for the floor with a cut out for the sub box including supports for the top of the floor.

Image

I then put my amps in and included a bit of wodding to stop vibration on the boot floor.

Simple jig i made

Then i Put the lid on the box including the cut out for the sub.

Then came the precison work for the boot floor

This is how it turned out:

Then i installed the sub, the equipment i have in is a bit poo, just waiting for some money so i can upgrade.

going to a bit more on this next weekend. Got a couple of good ideas for it, needed to go scrappers at weekend n get a couple of bit for the car due to the gf snappin the door handle. so did not really have much time o dear lol.

Also got a big problem on my hand the dreaded wearing noice from the gear box i think only does it when the clutch is up. :(

Nice work mate, will the sub be visible on completion? Or is it going to be hidden?

Depends what amp your on about, Mono amps aren't so bad. But it should never really be an issue. There are plenty of fans out there that offer good methods of cooling.

Just thought id add that your a c**t. Yes thats right a c**t. You have now given me the idea of doing a boot build again!! Grr!!

Loving the progress esp the bootbuild. Get new pics asap. U just glueing the carpet onto the wood? Whats the bass like being that the sub is facing up instead of the typical facing the boot.

That's cracking mate, just what I want to do to mine at some point.

So to confirm, you've constructed a box that sits in the wheel well? Not used the wheel well as the box? and the final board just sits on top of the sub front?
