Haven't heard what they are like in terms of performance, but I've heard they are a bit of a nightmare in terms of everyday driving. Alot of stalling involved esp. in town traffic. They are very ON/OFF from what I've heard.
yea i agree. ive heard a lot of black diamond products come faulty. I just got mine changed, and i got a valeo put in. had a sachs clutch in my golf . dont see much of a difference between the 2. they are both very good, just gotta see how long the clutch will last me for
SACHs don't offer a great deal more over the OEM replacement. But after feeling a brand new OEM clutch and my SACHs it was agreed my SACHs was lighter. It's also half the price!
What about an exhaust. I was thinking of a full cat back exhaust would that bring a noticeable difference? What makes aswell cuz i am confused on what make to go for.
And do you recommend getting a stainless steel manifold, or is it just a waste of money?
Yeah that what ive been looking at, the off the shelf exhaust system. But jus dont know what brand to go for cuz there loads like janspeed, jetex, scorpion, piper and the rest of em. Which ones are the best of the best?
Yeh a SS manifold is a good move, look at the raceland one that kam racing do.
In regards to an exhaust system, I'd personally go to the closest custom specialists who have received good feedback locally and get one made up. If not I've heard good things from jetex and powerflow
cg-motorsport clutches (in leeds & on web) do some good uprated ones!
price very close to OEM too, and on g40 could happily withstand more than standard bhp as they are designed for something like 30% more torque - cant remember, have a look on their website
Im gonna order the raceland manifold from kam racing soon, but just wanted to know if this is a direct fit? And if it is a fairly easy job to do, cuz im thinking of tackling it myself
There maybe an issue with lamba sensor mounting, but I'm not 100% sure. Mouse has just purchased one and is yet to fit, I'd suggest asking him as he may know a little more?
could we clear somthing up please... these performance clutches obviously have a harder brake pedal pressure but they are not on and off they are just a little harder to get used to. the clutches people refer to being on and off are padle cluches.i have a black diamond clutch in my 1.4 16v and its brill for me! other people might think diff but i love it i just plant it and it grips quicker and goes which is what its designed for!! not having a nag so sorry if you think i am. i just keep sayin dont knock it till you tried it! cheers
