A Cat By-pass is just that, a section of pipework that replaces your Cat. Obviously would be an instant MOT failure on a pre-1993, due to a CAT having to be part of the exhaust.
Best to go for a sports cat, that way you don't have to worry about putting the cat back on for the MOT!
