Hi all,

I was here a few weeks ago asking all kinds of questions about the MK4! I'm back again, this time having bought a MK3 as my pocket wouldn't stretch to the MK4!

So, thought I'd post some small pics of the car. Only just got it today, so haven't had chance to do anything to it yet, other than add my skull gearknob.

These pictures were taken by the seller. Obviously I'll be wanting to change the wheels when I can aford it. Otherwise, not too sure what I want to do at the moment...

Edit: I noticed that the pics weren't showing, so have re-hosted them elsewhere. Hope this wortks better!

I knew someone would say that!

I actually have a lowered Bug. But where I live there are speed humps everywhere and I can't get it over them! Don't want that again.

Just out of interest, how would one go about getting it lowered? Is it a DIY job, or best done by a professional?

Also, I want to get some alloys on it. What would be the biggest I could fit with it being lowered? I'd want low profile tyres.

I'm going to be asking tons of questions, so I hope you all don't mind! Only, I've never modified a car before and don't really know what to do.

Geocities doesn't seem to allow remote picture viewing

Imo, you need to

lower it
clear front+side indicators
late spec part smoked rear lights
and get hold of a uk-polos.net window sticker 8)

Cool, I shall get a window sticker straight away...I'm sure it'll be the least I'll have to spend on it!

I went to Ebay and found a lovely set of clear, oval side repeaters and a pair of clear indicators. Unfortunatly, the seller says they're for '94+ models.

Put on the clear repeaters and late spec lights. Other day I put red tape around the bumper. It gives it the GT, G40 look. I want some bigger alloys on mine. I got 13" at the minute but i'm looking to go for somthing more like 15". Where you from anyway?

I'm from Milton Keynes Rob.

Pettsy: Well, 14" sounds OK to me. I have read about people wacking 17" on a MK3. I've got 15" bog standard steal-rims on my Bug and they look quite big enough to me!

Anyone know where I could pick up some fairly cheep alloys? I like the 5 spokes. :D
