GTi Splitter

Post by Redline »

Just finished fitting a GTi splitter to my mk5. Took my mate and me a lot longer than we expected as there was one clip that just wouldn't undo. But after a lot of skinned knuckles we finally managed.

I'm pleased with how it looks, just waiting for my mesh grill to come from vagparts now.

I think for all the hastle and cost of getting it colour-coded when it looks ok as it is, I don't think I'll bother.

Matches the wheels, and the rest of the rubbing strips and door handles anyway :D

Cheers pettsy, that looks awesome.

Lowering it has become a bit of an issue at the minute. I personally want to do it, my mam (who's the legal owner of the car) wants me to lower it but its just my dad doesnt want me to lower it. And with being at Uni its awkward to start arguing with my main source of income

But when I can show him how good it'll look, might be a bit easier convincing him :D

Not really thinking of getting sideskirts so colour-coding aint really a problem.

i had exactly the same problem
neither of my parents liked the idea, always poo-pooing it, say stuff like "you'll ruin that car" etc
but dad came round and helped me do it
funny now they both like it

Just joined the forum and stumbled on your car with the GTi splitter fitted which I think looks really good. Did you get it from a VW dealer as I want one but cant seem to source one.

Any help and any advice on how to fit would be great :D

Cheers
