sagaris - you do all those mods and dont get a remap ???

Sure the R32 will feel fast is has almost 100bhp more than standard polo.. map it and you have 110bhp more than a standard polo...

But map a Polo with your mods and you can add like 70 bhp with a big weight advantage over the R32...

No remap...no wonder you are bored with it....

oh and remember this.. R32 is really bad on fuel...compared to Polo... great for a test drive but you run it every day with big fuel bills, big road tax, bigger insurance, more expensive parts.... and no faster than a chipped up Polo.... Hmmm

Just my thoughts.. J

I understand where you are coming from, but I have to do all these moddings to get where the R32 is.

definately espessially when you get a polo up to 220 bhp and it could easily keep up with a r32 and most likely wipe floor with it and you can just smile at the r32 owner as you go past

and the r32 thats got it all as standard cant be realistically taken much further either, the 20vt engines are good for 330 + bhp

combine that with a good differential, and you have genuine supercar performance,

i have all the ground work done now on mine, chassis, breathing and cooling mods and brakes, its in prep for becoming stage 3'd when it becomes available, and it will be, personally given your mods, im amazed your not tempted by a remap, only wish you was local to me and id offer to take you out in mine, its a massive difference to standard and still is only currently 223 bhp and 271 ft/lb torque, i have no issues with porsche boxter s's scoobs and the usual stuff like focur st's golf gti's etc,

another 110bhp and a diff to control it will be undescribable fun

get it remapped, it will make you want to keep it

Don't know where to start...

Sagaris again surprised you're not tempted to remap the car with all those mods. I can see where you're coming from if you're definately set to sell the car.

Hate to blow my own trumpet but I have had two R32's before the Polo, with the second one getting a full VF Stage 2 supercharge+extras like cams, intercooler etc etc treatment aka 370bhp+ :

Diamond black 5dr with full leather interior + baby seat with in leather with .:R logo (just like the seats)
Badgeless grill with slats
Audi A4 door handles all around
Boot delocked (handle still present)
H&R coilovers
AP racing 6 pot brakes with yellow AP racing writing
US rear lights
BBS 19" x 9.5 LeMan edition wheels with Michelin tyres (unmarked)
Retro fitted OEM version G sat nav with the proper navi aerial (but not the large MFD)
Kicker Solo X subwoofer with Nakamichi speakers all around
Milltek full non resonated system including cats
VF engineering stickers on the engine lump
VF engineering super charger 16psi
HGP turbo conversion internals and manifold (not that anyone will ever see these)
Front sway bar on top of the engine + in boot, in powder black
5 bar fuel pressure regulator (its polished)
Haldex performance controller upgrade
Cant remember what else

Running costs I dont notice much between the Polo and R32 apart from the cost tyres, insurance and haldex servicing. The R32's exhaust note (modded) is to die for, the Polo is pretty raspy too.

A Polo GTI wont feel as special as the R32 for some, its a Polo afterall. The fact is you'll see less Polo GTI's than the R32. My Polo GTI keeps me happy and I do not miss the R32 or even RS4 apart from a) the space and b) the road presence, the Polo to an extent is quick enough and yours could be a pretty special car with a remap.

Get the R32 if you really want to, it has the wow factor going for it.. You wont regret it :D

yes we mapped a VF stage 2 Supercharged R32 a few weeks ago.... yes it was fast.... but the handling was the best bit... that 4wd was ace...

but tonight I just went to the shop in my Polo and its so much effing fun... and its so fast.... and it aint mapped properly yet.. just a little 1.2 bar boost....

i wouldnt blame you for getting the R32 they sound nice without even moving..

when I looked at the Polo I was so close to buying A3 3.2 quattro... lol

But sagaris.. before you part with the Polo spend at least a few weeks with it mapped :-)

Okay so I've decided to keep the Polo. The reason is I believe the R32 car tax will be £400 in 08/09. :x

So might just go get a remap and see the difference.

I get to drive a fair few R32's at work and for what they are they aren't all that quick, my mate has a 172 cup with a few little mods which would put the dub to shame especially on the handling stakes. Theres no doubt about it though its a nice motor but worth the money? I think not.

at the end of the day the polo has so much potential, but only because of the engine (1.8t) without that its crap !
