please help
Wots the best size wheel 4 my polo without having to lower the suspension and the best size wheel with lowering, a alloy shop told me 18's would fit without rubbing please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

realistically a 17 inch wheel sits and looks best on the car for the size of the platform and arch size
and your tires should be 205x40x17
my wheels are 7.5j in width, and id recommend going no wider than an 8j wheel
and if you dont want issues with rubbing, you need a wheel as close to the stock offset as possible which is et 38, anything from et 40 - et 35 whould be ok,
my old wheels were still only a 7.5j wheel x 17 inch, but an et 32 offset and rubbed on the outsides of the arch on bumps and caught the inside arch on full lock, so just shows what difference 6mm makes
heres a pic of my wheels fitted to my lowered gti
