Bigger Wheels

Post by KennyPOLO_Gti »

How much difference do you think going to a bigger and heavier wheel makes to the preformance of the car???

i reckon, quite a bit, cos its a nimble little car on 16s, reminds me of my mates lupo gti, just throw it into corners and it sticks!

on 17s i have not had a go on, but on 18s its wayyyyyyy to heavy lol

I dont think it is the size but the weight of the wheel...

the cheaper wheels are so much heavier than genuine...

you will have a slightly large rolling radius but nothing major...

and tyres with new tread seem to make a difference.... more tread must equal a bigger wheel...

I just put two new tyres on the front (the old were completely bald) and you definately notice..

Just my thoughts.. lol

thats true j with the tyres

when i had F1s on, they are so frickin heavy

now back on contis, the car feels more lively, but with the F1s more chuckable!

my comps slowed my car down some what quite a bit due to the weight, where my 16 are light, the cup wheels are just as light, weighing less than 200 grams difference with a tyre fitted

so yeah, they do make a difference
