does anyone know where i can buy some smoked rear lights for a mk3?

do u mean completely smoked or the indicators and reverse light smoked?
if its the second set u want, try volks-apart (they have a website but i can't remember it) there reasonably priced, n german, french and swidish do them as well i think

That's where I got one of mine from, £40 a side though, it's not too cheap.

I did think about flagging down someone with a knackered late Mk3 with the half coloured lamps and offering them money if we swapped lenses, then I found one lens at BVF 2001 - £15! :shock: :D Bargain!

If you can wait, and you're lucky, you might get a set at one of this year's shows.

or you can get some tinting spray for about £10 and paint your old lamps

They're only £44 odd each from VAG :o iirc!

I think im gonna go for full smokes

Just a thought. I have some Polycarbonate smoke spray which I used on the shell of an R/C car. Could I use the rest of that to smoke my rear mirrors? :?

yeah you probably can. I used a mixture of 5 parts laquer to 1 part black paint to paint the back lights on my GT. I did sand them down to key them for the paint to stick better using 600 grit wet and dry paper, and also removed the "E" markings, for which I could fail an MOT test if the MOT tester really wants to check.
