tyre recommendations for GTi

my tyres are looking like they may need replacing in a few weeks so i was just wondering what peoples views are on which tyres perform best on the gti? also i was looking at standard size (205/45/16) but i was wondering if a different width/profile is recommended or . . ?

keep standard size in the standard rims i have kept with the continental sport 2 that came with the car they are a great tyre!

i'd go with goodyear eagle f1's i had them on my polo and they were brill!

i hated my conti's!

i was thinking of the f1's as it happens, also been thinking about the toyo proxes T1-R . . . anyone had these in the past . . ?

i have both, eagles (GSD3) on my gti wheels and proxes t1r on my cup wheels

they are both great tyres with great grip all round, cope perfectly well at over 220 bhp too, im hving no issues, for me though, the eagles have a small edge over the proxes as they last a bit longer and have a smidge more grip
