do u feel upset when ur car is broke???

Post by kipper »

exactly!!!! i do.... the last day or so i been hearing this strange noise like scrubbing, from wat i assumed was the back wheels, then today i drove to ewhurst where i was playing snooker and the noise got louder.

so to add unsult to injury, not only did i loose my match, not having a good start to the season, i was thinking to myself my car will bugger up now as well. low and behold it did. so i got a lift home and my car is there but i really felt like crying but held it back cause i was upset my car was damaged so i couldlnt drive it so its all on its own now in the middle of nowhere. hopefully get it sorted tomorrow.

but can n e one help witht he problem? wat it is is i believe the reason the noise was getting louder is theres something wrong witht he rear axle or hub or something. when the rear wheels turn, i believe the driver side is ok, the passenger side, the wheel literally wobbles, i felt the car rear go from side to side slightly as i drove it about 20 yards up the road. the tyre was also rubbing ont he arch because of this.

dont think i described it very well but if n e one has an idea it would be much appreciated as i dont really wanna fork out a load of money as im saving to go away next year and i dont have much time to save.

I wouldn't go as far as nearly crying lol, but I know what you mean. My car hasn't been washed for a week, and the inside almost 2 months. And I feel dirty it.

Either the wheel bolts have come undone, the hub has come loose, or you have something else seriousely wrong.

Get it jacked up and that wheel off ASAP to avoid any further damage.

no i dont have spacers.

found out wat the problem was tho......

my mum took me up there to get my car sorted and as soon as i had a closer look i saw the problem, my bolts were loose, so loose infact i could wedge my big finger between the wheel and the drum hub. one of the bolts was totally missing, another was close to coming out and the other 2 were about half way out. luckily cause my mum has a polo to i used her equipment from her car to jack it up and tighten thm up, them i checked the rest as well. she thinks someone tried to steal my wheels cause theyve never become loose befor, so i told her im gonna get some locking nuts for it and so now i got locking nuts on it again.

It can make the bolts vibrate out as they have no solid surface to grip to

If your worried about them coming loose try locktight. Or the next given chance (if you haven't got one yourself) get them torxed up properly with an airgun at a garage.

I had issues with my spacers like this, they kept coming loose. But chucked a mech at a tyre garage a fiver and he did them all up for me properly. Never had any issues since.
