Post by Bepe »

Right some of you no my recent motors, a blue mk5 1.0 and a mk5 gti,

well iam now pickin up a mk5 1.4 16v next week sometime as funds were tight and i needed a car! and yep i had to get another polo as the corsa gsi was a pain lol, basically iam asking ive seen most 1.4 16v models with drums on the backs but mine has discs, but it says on the description that it is a 75bhp model, how would i find out?

I did a reg check on mine but it came up with two registered cars, 65 and 75bhp.

Try something like getting an online insurance quote, enter your reg and see what it comes up with. Or try and find a free reg check.

well its deffinatly not a 60bhp one as its the DOHC engine not the SOHC which is the MPI and this doesnt have that engine cover resembling this

Ive got a 75hp 1.4 16v and it has disc brakes on the back. Im guessing that if you car is a SE then its the 75hp one as mine is the SE model with the foglights.

should say 1.4 16v on the engine cover. SE's also have rear discs, heated mirrors, electric windows, rear door speakers. should be able to tell by little things like this, best way to find out is from the reg though

Ahh good good, always nice to have another 5-door in the ranks. Judging by your blue motor it'll be a killer too!
