Oily residue in the Inlet manifold cover

Post by Anand »

Hi,

I checked under my inlet manifold cover (1998 1.9 Diesel Polo), and there is a oily residue on pretty much everything inside. There's not a lot but it is still fairly black and greasy.

Is this right?

Thanks Anand

black & greasy, yes that is right , that would be the oil

inlet manifold, iirc is exhaust gas related (not sure, that's a 3 spanner thing on thte haynes manual so out of my range..) sorry my man not sure but an oil residue cant be good.... ? prob' worth cleaning the oil to see if there is an oil leak... ???
