Glove Box Jammed!

Just realised that my glovebox is not opening, its not locked but i think the handle to open the glovebox, is not releasing the latch, is there any way of opening or fixing this problem that anyone could help me on.

sounds like u got the problem i had. unfortanately i dunno how they got it sorted as i asked my vw garage to have a look at it as my car was getting something done to it n e way. they did manage to open it but the latch i t hink was broke so i needed a new one. wasnt expensive and i changed it myself but thats all i can help u with.

Happened to my old one. You have to pull the handle off and release it with a screwdriver. New handle insert is about a fiver, and its just a case of transferring a spring and the cylinder

Thanks for the advise, can i get the handle insert from vw themselves?
if so do you know the part number

Yep, just give them a call and ask them for the part number if it's not on the reverse side of the handle.
