suspension noise

Post by jim_jaxx »

I have a query, is it normal to have a clunking noise on a new suspension set up every half turn from the front two springs?

Its a 40mm drop, but a very loud crunk as if the spring is slipping slightly as the hub moves, anyone had a similar prob?

Have you checked all the bolts to make sure they are all tight? And how good are your wishbone bushes?

Hitting the sidewall? Of the tyre?

Have you checked for a broken spring, or it may be seated incorrectly?

Anti roll bar bushing on that side?

Every half turn? both ways left and right? Maybe your track rod ends are either worn or not tightend up.

AF suspension generally is noisey, my coilovers clunk all the time. I wouldn't worry about it too much, just do general checks and if everythings fine then just ignore it!
