Have you checked brake fluid and when it was last changed? Could be plain wear and tear or due for a fluid change.

I would personally get a 312mm upgrade done, and depending on how frequently/type of driving you do - wear the ones out on your car first.

it's not anything stupid like dust or stones in between pad and disc making the metal noise is it?

search Ebay... you'll find everything there....

My fronts... about £200 all in...

My rears... about £150 all in...

Fronts can be found on many VAG like TT180/225, Skoda Octavia VRS180, Bora 1.8T 180, A3 1.8T 180, Golf Anni 180...

You need calipers, carriers, discs and pads.. thats it... just bolt it all up.

Rears come from most of the above but if from a Quattro model you need spacers to make the carriers fit. (Standard Polo pads fit the 256mm rears)

Of course you can buy all the parts new from VAG PARTS, Golf GTI ANNI stuff all ready painted in red.. but cost is much more.

R32 stuff really good but then you need bigger wheels to fit....
