shantybeater wrote:i'm all for the clio v6..it was one of the cars i was seriously contemplating getting, but besides the looks & rarity its massively overpriced & underpowered... are you really willing to buy a french mk4 r32 which maybe a bit rarer but is slower, not as reliable, more expensive & not as pretty???

The nail in the coffin for me was the interior though, it looks sooo tacky :?

If you buy one though, please bring it to a uk-p meet & take me for a drive :)
All that and the fact it has no rear seats! And doesn't come into the same kind of category as the roadster style kind, where it doesn't matter whether you have them or not.

I noticed someone said in a thread on the 197 vs. V6..."head says 197, heart says V6" and I totally agree. V6 would be pretty crap for going on holiday. The 2 seat issue isn't a problem just now and to be honest it would make sense now whilst I'm young and single  It's definately a future classic, though I love the 197 as it looks great, the drive is meant to be superb and it's practical

It's not the lack of seats I don't like about it. It's the fact that it looks like it should have them... and doesn't.

If you have concerns about fuel consumption on a one hour commute, I would cross the 197 off your list !

The V6 is all about presence, looks & noise. It is only just quicker than the 182, but it doesn't handle as well.

Ed30 prices are still a little inflated otherwise I would suggest that. With no other commitments, something like a 3.0 Z4 can be bought very reasonably?

Sorry, but why are the likes of a fiat 500 and a punto even be considered in a similar league as the likes of a megan 225, a scirocco and a clio V6.

your off your rocker mouse.....V6 or 225 for me ;)

After seeing Top Gear last night it looks like the 500 Abarth for me. Good combo of looks/performance/economy etc. I'd wait for the SS version though with 155bhp 8)

The 500 esseesse does seem as good as I hoped it would be according to Mr Clarkson. I'd certainly have one over any other small hatch around at the minute.

However I'm currently more concerned about how much a kidney would be worth so I can buy a Dodge Challenger......
