Invitation to CGTI Sussex Treasure Hunt, Sunday 25th April

Post by john_wintle »

Hi all,

I would like to extend an open invitation to all the Polo forum members to an event which we are holding at the end of this month.

West Sussex CGTI "Treasure Hunt!"

On Sunday 25th April, we are going to have a Treasure Hunt, by car of course, around the back of the lovely Sussex downs in the Arundel-Petworth-Pulborough area. The course is approximately 20 miles long and mostly down pictureesque country lanes and through villages, off the main roads where possible. I have check out the roads, and lowered cars should be fine.

We will be meeting at the 'WhiteWays Lodge' public car park at 10:30 for a start at about 10:45 ish staggered start. This is located on the A29, at the junction with the A284 (Arundel Road), at the top of Bury Hill, so it should be quite easy to find.

There is a snack stop here as well, so you can get a hot drink if you like and some eats for breakfast (!), as well as a load of motorbikes to look at I expect.

After the hunt has finished we will meet back up at the car park and then make our way to the regular meeting place at 'The Fox' at Patching, via A264 to Arundel and then the main A27 towards Worthing.

Lunch can be had at the pub in the bar area, or hopefully outside if the weather is nice. The food is very good and the prices are fair.

We are going to have a prize for the cleanest car from the treasure hunt as well as the dirtiest as well! For those of you that must, there will be a jet-wash en-route back just after Arundel at the large BP complex.

There will be a charge of £1 entry to the event for each car, not per person, the proceeds going towards the prizes at the end.

If any of you are up for a bit of a laugh then please come along. It will be nice to see you all there.

Ideally you will need two people in the car, one to drive and the other to look out for clues/navigate and write things down, so bring a pen or two as well, and maybe something hard to write on.

This is a link to the map showing the location of the car park, being the big blue 'P' symbol near the centre of the map, just to the N of the roundabout.

If you would just like to come along to the meet, then details of the location can be found on my website, http://www.clubgti-sussex.co.uk

If anyone has any questions about the event, please let me know via [email protected]

Thanks for you time, and hope to see as many people as possible there.

Kind Regards,

John Wintle.
